For the second consecutive year, Prairie Water News entered the Bugbusters team in the 24-hour relay for Easter Seals held in Saskatoon. The team's goals were to raise funds for disabled children and to raise awareness of the importance of safe drinking water.
Team members were from Sask Water, the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration, Saskatchewan Research Council, Environment Canada, City of Saskatoon, University of Saskatchewan, Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management and Mainstream BMS Ltd.
The title sponsors of Bugbusters were Sask Water, Environment Canada, Canada-Saskatchewan Agriculture Green Plan Agreement, SRC and PFRA.

A two-prong approach was carried out. Title sponsor employees purchased T-shirts to spread awareness of safe drinking water, and funds from title and corporate sponsors were used to purchase T-shirts for donations of $10 or more to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. A total of 1,700 T-shirts were purchased from the Abilities Council, and team members raised another $6,400 for the Council through donations to the Bugbusters.
